When Time Feels Different

Lately, many people say the same thing: “Time is flying.”

Our days rush by, and weeks blur together. Sometimes it feels like whole years slipped past without leaving many memories behind. This isn’t because clocks are moving faster. It’s because our brains tell time through memory, not minutes!

When we are really paying attention — laughing, learning something new, being outside, creating, or having a meaningful talk — our brains save those moments. Time feels full.

But when days look the same, when we rush, scroll, or stay stressed, the brain saves less. When fewer memories are made, time feels like it disappears.

After many busy years, and especially after times of stress, our minds learned how to just “get through the day.” That helped us survive, but it also made life feel flatter and faster.

Time begins to slow down again when we arrive into the moment.

When we put down our phone and notice the sky. When we listen to nature or do something new! These small choices tell the brain, “This matters.”

Time isn’t asking us to hurry. It’s asking us to BE HERE ENOUGH.

When we live more awake, time doesn’t vanish; it stretches, settles true, and becomes ours again.
